USA Today Poll Says: Nerdy is the new Cool…

According to a recent study done by USA Today (Unofficial Statistics of Austin Today), “Nerdy is the new cool.” Let me explain:

Last night was MAN Night at my house. For those of you of the female kind, who don’t know what MAN night is…God Himself created MAN night. On a male’s list of favorite days of the year, MAN night falls right behind Christmas, Easter, and the Super Bowl. Typically MAN night consists of grilling and consuming a wide variety of meats in large amounts. Every male loves to play with fire and eat dead animals, which is why MAN night is so important to the existence of the male-kind. Just like a car needs gas to drive, men need testosterone to live (scientific fact). Smoke, from a large flame, and grease, from a juicy piece of meat, are both carriers of this man chemical.

So what else happens at MAN night, aside from fulfilling the pyro and carnivorous needs of the male breed? Competition. Competition, along with fire and meat, is an indispensable component of MAN night. Webster’s Revised Dictionary defines competition as, “An activity invented by MAN, for MAN”. Competition comes in countless forms: sports, video games, arm wrestling, chair jousting, etc… Last night, our competition of choice was a board game called Settlers of Catan. Now I know what you’re thinking, “Wow, that’s pretty nerdy.” But remember, “Nerdy is the new cool,” and don’t you forget that!
