Isaiah 55: Quench Your Thirst (Part II)
Continued from Wednesday’s Post…
Isaiah 55:1
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”
The Lord gives an invitation to the “thirsty” to come. Who are the thirsty?
One who is thirsty, is one who desires some form of fulfillment and/or satisfaction.
Important Truth #1: The human body/soul/entire being was created to need and want fulfillment and satisfaction.
The invitation to “come”, is an invitation to the “thirsty” to come be fulfilled and satisfied. It is a standing invitation…an invitation that says, “Don’t just come one time, come and keep on coming!”
Many of you have initially chosen to come to God for fulfillment, but if you and I don’t continue to come to Him all the time for that fulfillment then we are in danger of seeking fulfillment from other things. That is why God warns us of doing this in verse 2…
Isaiah 55:2
“Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?”
What kinds of things do you find yourself seeking satisfaction from?
