Swords and Fighting…..Sword Fighting

In life, you’ve got to be prepared for the unexpected.  Why, you ask?  Because sometimes, unexpected things just happen….things out of the ordinary, things that you thought would never happen.  Not in a million years did I ever think I would be attacked by a raging lunatic with a sword…..boy was I wrong!

Well, I had an ordinary meeting today, an ordinary meeting that turned into an all out battle to the death (except nobody died….thank goodness).  Luckily for you and all the other blog readers out there, it was all documented.

Here’s how it all went down:

This morning at about 10:30am, what I thought was going to be an ordinary meeting with one of my students, turned into anything but that.  At about 10:40am CST, a simple conversation turned into one of the most intense sword fights documented in this age…

I don’t know if it’s something that I said or what, but all of the sudden, out of nowhere this guy whips out this huge sword and tries to fight me.  It’s a good thing I had my trusty Siberian sword strategically hidden on my bookshelf for situations just like this…

At first, it was nothing more than a simple stare down.  Until…

He tried to strike.  It was like staring down a pit viper, in a pit, in a remote desert, in  a far, far away place.  Was I scared?  Absolutely!  Too bad my ridiculously fast reflexes (much faster than the average human being) stopped him from getting to me…

The fight continued for a good 2 or 3 minutes until we both were too tired to continue.  To make a long story short….the sword fight ended in a draw.

Moral of the story:  Always be prepared for the unexpected….and every human being ought to own a Siberian sword (I think you can get them pretty much anywhere in Siberia).
